Human Hepatitis A Virus (HAV) is a contagious liver disease caused by the hepatitis A virus. It is transmitted primarily through the fecal-oral route, either by consuming contaminated food or water or through close personal contact with an infected person. HAV infection can cause a range of symptoms, including fatigue, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, and jaundice. In most cases, HAV infection is self-limiting and resolves on its own, but in some cases, it can lead to liver failure and death. There is no specific antiviral treatment for HAV, but the virus can be prevented through vaccination.

Human Hepatitis A Virus (HAV) is a common viral infection that can cause inflammation of the liver. HAV genotype IB is a particular genotype of HAV that is common in Europe and North America. The viral genome of HAV genotype IB encodes several important proteins, including VP2, VP3, VP1-A2, VP1, 2BC, 2B, 2C, 3ABC, and 3C. Here’s what you need to know about these proteins:

VP2: This protein is a structural protein that forms the outer shell of the viral capsid. It plays a critical role in protecting the viral genome and in viral entry into host cells.

VP3: This protein is a structural protein that forms the inner shell of the viral capsid. It plays a critical role in protecting the viral genome and in viral entry into host cells.

VP1-A2 and VP1: These proteins are major capsid proteins and are involved in viral entry and host cell receptor recognition. They are also highly immunogenic and are often used as diagnostic markers for HAV infection.

2BC, 2B, and 2C: These proteins are nonstructural proteins that are involved in viral replication and pathogenesis. They play important roles in modulating host immune responses and in viral assembly and release.

3ABC and 3C: These proteins are nonstructural proteins that are involved in viral replication and pathogenesis. They are critical in viral polyprotein processing and viral protease activity.

Understanding the functions of these proteins is important for developing effective treatments and vaccines for HAV genotype IB. The transmission of HAV can be prevented by practicing good hygiene, such as frequent hand washing and avoiding contaminated food and water. If you suspect you have been infected with HAV, seek medical attention immediately to ensure prompt and appropriate treatment.

The use of recombinant proteins/cDNA in academic research and therapeutic applications has skyrocketed. However, in heterologous expression systems, successful recombinant protein expression is dependent on a variety of factors, including codon preference, RNA secondary structure, and GC content. When compared to pre-optimization, more and more experimental results demonstrated that the expression level was dramatically increased, ranging from two to hundred times depending on the gene. Bioclone has created a proprietary technology platform that has resulted in the creation of over 6,000 artificially synthesized codon-optimized cDNA clones (cloned in E. coli expression Vector), which are ready for production of the recombinant proteins.
