Murine pneumotropic virus (MPtV) is a type of virus that belongs to the family Polyomaviridae. It is a small, non-enveloped virus that has a circular, double-stranded DNA genome. MPtV infects rodents, including mice and rats, and is mainly transmitted through respiratory secretions.

The T-antigen is a protein that is encoded by the MPtV genome and is essential for viral replication. It functions as a helicase and plays a key role in DNA replication and transcription. T-antigen is also involved in regulating cell growth and proliferation and has been linked to the development of certain types of cancer.

The capsid protein VP1, VP2, and VP3 are structural proteins that form the outer shell of the MPtV virus particle. VP1 is the major capsid protein and is responsible for binding to the host cell surface receptors. VP2 and VP3 are minor capsid proteins that help stabilize the virus particle and facilitate viral entry into the host cell.

Research on MPtV and its key components, including T-antigen and capsid proteins VP1, VP2, and VP3, is ongoing. While MPtV is not known to cause disease in humans, its study may help shed light on the mechanisms of viral replication and the development of certain types of cancer.

The use of recombinant proteins/cDNA in academic research and therapeutic applications has skyrocketed. However, in heterologous expression systems, successful recombinant protein expression is dependent on a variety of factors, including codon preference, RNA secondary structure, and GC content. When compared to pre-optimization, more and more experimental results demonstrated that the expression level was dramatically increased, ranging from two to hundred times depending on the gene. Bioclone has created a proprietary technology platform that has resulted in the creation of over 6,000 artificially synthesized codon-optimized cDNA clones (cloned in E.coli expression Vector), which are ready for production of the recombinant proteins.
