Human papillomavirus cDNA and recombinant antigen
Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a common sexually transmitted virus that can cause various types of cancer, including cervical, anal, and oropharyngeal cancer. The virus is composed of several proteins, including Late minor capsid protein L2, 81(Y and X) protein, L1, E1, E2, E6, and E7.
Late minor capsid protein L2 is a structural protein that is involved in the assembly of the virus particle. It plays an important role in the entry of HPV into host cells.
81(Y and X) protein is a protein that is expressed during the early phase of HPV infection. It is involved in the modulation of cellular gene expression and has been linked to the development of cancer.
Type 16 HPV is the most common high-risk type of HPV and is associated with the development of cervical cancer. The virus is composed of several proteins, including L1, E1, E2, E6, and E7. L1 is the major capsid protein of the virus, while E1 and E2 are involved in viral DNA replication. E6 and E7 are oncoproteins that have been linked to the development of cancer.
Type 59 HPV is a low-risk type of HPV that is associated with genital warts. The virus is composed of several proteins, including ORF putative (E6 and E2) protein, E7, and L1.
Type 92 HPV is another low-risk type of HPV that is associated with genital warts. The virus is composed of several proteins, including L1, E2, E6, and E7.
Understanding the structure and function of these proteins is important for the development of effective HPV vaccines and therapeutics. Ongoing research on these proteins and other components of the HPV virus will continue to provide insights into the biology of the virus and potential targets for therapeutic intervention.
The use of recombinant proteins/cDNA in academic research and therapeutic applications has skyrocketed. However, in heterologous expression systems, successful recombinant protein expression is dependent on a variety of factors, including codon preference, RNA secondary structure, and GC content. When compared to pre-optimization, more and more experimental results demonstrated that the expression level was dramatically increased, ranging from two to hundred times depending on the gene. Bioclone has created a proprietary technology platform that has resulted in the creation of over 6,000 artificially synthesized codon-optimized cDNA clones (cloned in E.coli expression Vector), which are ready for production of the recombinant proteins.
