Description

BcMag™ silica-modified magnetic beads are uniform and superparamagnetic beads. The beads are manufactured using nanometer-scale superparamagnetic iron oxide as core and entirely encapsulated by a high purity silica shell, ensuring no leaching problems with the iron oxide. Silica beads are polar positive phase adsorbents that retain polar molecules in the sample, particularly structurally related polar compounds. The surface of silica-modified magnetic beads can be chemically modified to carry different functional groups for other applications. The beads may also be used to purify DNA or RNA under high concentration of chaotropic salts.
