Cryptosporidium hominis is a protozoan parasite that can cause diarrheal disease in humans. It is transmitted through contaminated water, food, or contact with infected individuals.

Several key antigens are associated with Cryptosporidium hominis, including surface glycoprotein gp40-15 and 900, immunodominant antigen Cp23, and mature-parasite-infected erythrocyte surface antigen. These antigens play a crucial role in the survival and virulence of the parasite, and are also targets for host immune responses.

Surface glycoprotein gp40-15 and 900 are important for the attachment and invasion of the parasite into the host cells. Immunodominant antigen Cp23 is a major target for host immune response and has potential for use in diagnostic tests and vaccine development. Mature-parasite-infected erythrocyte surface antigen is involved in the immune evasion of the parasite and has potential for use in vaccine development.

Further research on these antigens and their interactions with the host immune system could lead to the development of effective diagnostic tests, vaccines, and treatments for Cryptosporidium hominis infections, as well as for other parasitic protozoans.

The use of recombinant proteins/cDNA in academic research and therapeutic applications has skyrocketed. However, in heterologous expression systems, successful recombinant protein expression is dependent on a variety of factors, including codon preference, RNA secondary structure, and GC content. When compared to pre-optimization, more and more experimental results demonstrated that the expression level was dramatically increased, ranging from two to hundred times depending on the gene. Bioclone has created a proprietary technology platform that has resulted in the creation of over 6,000 artificially synthesized codon-optimized cDNA clones (cloned in E. coli expression Vector), which are ready for production of the recombinant proteins.
