Introduction

Behold the magnificence of Bioclone hydrophobic magnetic resins, crafted to perfection with uniform magnetic beads, adorned with a dense array of hydrophobic ligands on the surface. These rigid polymeric beads feature covalent surface chemistries, providing superior physical and chemical stability, coupled with effortless handling and packing techniques, culminating in an unparalleled production process. Bid adieu to the tedious and costly chromatographic techniques like agarose, cellulose, Sepharose, Sephadex-based columns, or resins as these hydrophobic magnetic beads take center stage. With nanometer-scale superparamagnetic iron oxide as the core and a high-purity silica shell encompassing it, the hydrophobic magnetic beads boast of zero leaching problems with the iron oxide, and the pure inert silica significantly reduces nonspecific binding. The non-porous nature of the beads, with a size ranging from 1 to 5 µm diameter, offers a larger surface area, resulting in reduced nonspecific binding and heightened resolution in contrast to porous supports.

BcMag™ C-8 Magnetic Beads, known for their superparamagnetic nature and uniformity, characterized by hydrophobic groups on their surface that enable efficient functioning as a chromatographic matrix. These magnetic beads cater to manual or automatic purification, desalination, and concentration of peptides or proteins, falling within the femtomolar to the picomolar range, alleviating the tedious process of repetitive pipetting and centrifugation procedures that could very well be the bane of our existence. BcMag™ C-8 magnetic beads work as an excellent matrix for the fractionation of hydrophobic molecules, too tightly bound to C-18 beads for elution. Although these beads are most suitable for low to intermediate molecular weight proteins, in many cases, the three types of beads could be used interchangeably, making it an ideal product for scientists and researchers alike.
